Andres talked about Anonymous a few days ago: how did it start, what do they do...
Anonymous is an Internet meme that originated in 2003 on the imageboard 4chan, representing the concept of many online and offline community users simultaneously existing as an anarchic, digitized global brain.
Then we also talked about WikiLeaks, an international, online, self-described not-for-profit organisation that publishes submissions of private, secret, and classified media from anonymous news sources.
The Swedish police began an investigation into allegations concerning the Australian Julian Assange's (the founder of WikiLeaks) behaviour in separate sexual encounters involving two different women. I think they did it because of what he had done with all those secrets, not because of that (I don't think that's true).

Today Mar has done a presentation about Twitter. She has showed us how to use it, and that there are many celebrities that have an account and write "tweets" (however, most of those celebrities have a person who updates their profiles for them).
Twitter is an online social networking service and microblogging service that enables its users to send and read text-based posts of up to 140 characters(those posts are called "tweets"). It had over 300 million users in 2011, and it has more than 600 employees.
I have a Twitter account and I use it very often, I usually write in English so that people from other countries can understand me. I read what some celebrities tweet, and also what my friends say. I think it's a great social network.

Spotify
Today Peter has done a presentation about Spotify.
Spotify is a Swedish DRM-based music streaming service offering streaming of selected music from a range of major and independent record labels. It was launched in 2008. Spotify had about 10 million users (2.5 million paying members) in 2010. Music can be browsed by artist, album, record label, genre or playlist.
As Peter said, Spotify has a really similar template to iTunes, so it's really easy to use. It's great to listen to the music you want wherever and whenever you want. I have an account, although I don't use it that much. I prefer buying CDs and LP records (the same about "physical" books) as I have always done.

GPS
Today Kike spoke about GPS.
GPS (Global Positioning System) is a space-based satellite navigation system that provides location and time information in all weather, anywhere on or near the Earth, where there is an unobstructed line of sight to four or more GPS satellites.
I think it's a really good invention because it really helps you to find places and guide you.
Then there's something like a game which is planned on the internet. Someone hides a "treasure", that person gives you coordinates and you have to find it. There's also a similar thing but with books.

Soundcloud
Yesterday's speaking class was about SoundCloud. Peter talked about it.
SoundCloud is an online audio distribution platform which allows collaboration, promotion and distribution of audio recordings. It's free, you don't need to pay for uploading, downloding or listening to music. It was founded in Berlin. It was launched in October 2008, there are only 80 employees and it has now about 10 million users.
I already had a SoundCloud account. I mainly use it on my iPod, for listening to music. There's an app (wich is also free) and it's really easy to use. I think it's a really useful website.

RENREN and Facebook
Today's speaking class has been about the differences between RENREN and Facebook. It has been presented by Maite. Here are the most important differences between the Chinese and the American social networks:
·An obvious difference is that RENREN is in Chinese, while in Facebook, here are many languages to
choose.
·You can see who has visited your profile on RENREN, but you can't do that on Facebook.
·RENREN is mostly used by young people but there's people of all ages on Facebook.

Google +
Peter talked about Google +. It's very similar to Facebook, and I think it's better (and safer), but all my friends use Facebook and Tuenti. I hace an account, but I don't think I will use it at the moment.

Tuenti
Ruth has talked about Tuenti today. Tuenti is a social network, wich was founded in 2006 by a group of friends in Spain. It's really similar to Facebook, you can comment on pictures, like status...
It's mostly used by Spanish people. However, the company is trying to make it known in other countries. Tuenti is available in Spanish, Catalan, Basque, Galician and English. It's accessible only to those who have been invited.

About Google
Lawrence "Larry" Page (born March 26, 1973) is an American computer scientist and software developer who, with Sergey Brin, is best known as the co-founder of Google. He is the current CEO of Google.
The Google offices are in Santa Clara County, California, United States. If you work there, you can have free gourmet lunches and dinners, swimming spas, child daycare centers, laundry machines and many more things.
But Google also has negative things. For example, they can lower your Google ranking or just get your website banned, so that it will be more difficult to find you on Google. They manipulate the order.
